unbearable fullness

that night, before leaving, i stood in front of the window for a long time,
staring into the night, or what should have been the night.

yet life was still there, unbearably full, clinging to me like algae to a dead body.

  2. Oh, but what night was it, this night of leaving, what window was it, this window of gazing, what sorrow was it, this unspoken sorrow, what body was it, where life clings like algae, what life was it, what sadness, what fullness, what history happened, what tragedy befell, what hopes died there, where will she go, where to turn, what glimmer of hope remains ???

    So many questions raised...

But you must not answer any of them, dear Roxana, no mysteries are to be revealed, we shall simply ponder on them, wonder at length as to what might have given birth to these feelings.

PS Hope you are will be away somewhere wonderful, bon voyage if you are travelling. Be well, be safe, and smile. Perhaps re-read the Unbearable Lightness...
    :-)

  7. Life is unbearably full. Emotions, senses, mysteries to ponder, things to do and see always, relationships to maintain, and the light that brings it all into view. Thank goodness for the night. But then those dreams...

I hope you have a fruitful journey or a relaxing vacation and will look forward to your return!

  8. And beautiful Roxana, did I say what powerful tension there is here between the life and death images between the visual images and your powerful play of words.

And here is my dream for today well despite the sombre darkness when I look at the image long enough those squigly lines for me become eyes peering out at me from the night. It reminds me of TSElliott's opera Cats.Where one scene was the eyes of the cats staring out at the audience and then ofcourse the t-shirts were to follow.

    Thankyou for this awesome post.

    have a beautiful magical day.

  9. Schweigen

    Ueber den Wäldern schimmert bleich
Der Mond, der uns träumen macht,
    Die Weide am dunklen Teich
    Weint lautlos in die Nacht.

Ein Herz erlischt - und sacht
Die Nebel fluten und steigen -
    Schweigen, Schweigen!

    (Georg Trakl)

  10. aceste fulguratii usoare in noapte,lasa-ma,draga mea,sa cred ca sunt petalele iasomiei care mi se pregateau, in ceas de seara berlineza,sa ma infasoare in dansul dragalaseniei noastre;si acele fulguratii puternice ,ochii care ma supravegheaza si ma ingrijesc cand sunt copila oarba, vad ei pentru mine.iti multumesc.

  12. Coucou Roxana..
    A bientôt..

besos y abrazos para ti tambien!

Stickup, how right you are, and you made me smile: "then those dreams" :-)))
thank you for your warm wishes, i can't wait to catch up with your blog, and all the others i have been missing...

Prospero, against all odds, how strange that is, when one thinks about it...
what a lovely expression as well: _against all odds_, i know it is not one word, but that will have to do :-P

Clo, ma chere, comment le sais-tu? :-)
