the threshold on which

they had led me to believe
there existed so-called soul-revealing gestures
(ah the delightful lullabies passed on
from one mouth to another)
i don't remember when i started to suspect
- it must have been later on, after you had already left -
(see, how wise i am now, you would be proud)
that nothing was mirrored there except
the threshold on which
each self attempting to become
was quickly butchered and made
into a luxurious memory

(it was then that i started to learn
how to move through greys
with apparent easiness)

    Bises Roxana !

  7. I could not help but think of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel when seeing this...

And one cannot help but marvel at how you move through languages other than your mother tongue with such apparent easiness, indeed with recklessness, without fear, with courage and assurance, leaving us with luxurious memories of your poetry in motion, poetry in stillness, la poésie toute courte.

So happy to see a light in the window, a welcoming hand, smoke in the chimney of the floating dreamland, where welcoming hands appear in the fog of our travels through the night...

  9. merc, it's good to return when you are here.

billoo, i don't know what to say, if my photos make you only think of the Addams family, then who has a problem, me or you? :-P
what about a c.r.? no, it's too hot...

  12. the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, ah Owen, can there be more praise than this!!! :-)
as always, you make me happy with your warm and enthusiastic words - but no, i am not at all "without fear, with courage and assurance" when it comes to english ahahah. you wouldn't say that if you heard me speak :-)

D.!!!!! you came by! what a surprise... but you are still away, aren't you? yes... i hope you are well. do you ever think of starting again?

    swiss, you enjoyed? :-)

  14. dearest, you must teach us all the gestural whispers in your book of lullabies.

  15. … this seems at first startling among your other images and beautiful in a way that is almost beyond description … this wavering between trompe l’oeil precision and a fade into the abstract is truly close to the essence of everything you do, things finding their shape from the creative emptiness in your images … I read this image as an allegory of memory that elects details --- a lovely hand, a blown wisp of hair (i love the hair) --- for preservation, lifting them from the gray flow of time, precious, with an attention to detail and nuance that i can only call love … and the poem works perfectly, even in its melancholy recognition of the impossibility of finding and holding a definite, final reading of experience … a current flowing back and forth between the words and the picture (so much in parenthesis that trembles on the verge of spilling over its boundaries, the heart in parenthesis)….

  17. Roxana, what is apparent . . . is the beauty that lies within the gray matter of your brain, the exquisite and delicate imagery of your mind. Thanks for sharing your sensitive and delightful perspective. Dee

  20. Prospero, how beautiful, 'gestural whispers' - if only the body in my pictures could learn to be this...

  21. James, and so much in your comment that it seems that the essence of my post is hidden here, on the verge of spilling over its boundaries...

i hadn't thought of 'an allegory of memory that elects details' in this case, perhaps because i was so caught in the present of my reflection in the mirror, in that existential mise-en-scene of a double who detaches herself of me. but of course, now, that i am able to take a step back and guided by your poem (it's a poem!), i can see it like that and everything becomes even richer.

    thank you (as always)
