And the enigma of the moon
And its ebbing, so very gentle,
Would touch my soul
Should you lay your hands upon my eyes.
You are the woman who passes
Like a leaf,
Your wake a blaze of autumn through the trees.
from Fifth Canto,
Would touch my soul
Should you lay your hands upon my eyes.
You are the woman who passes
Like a leaf,
Your wake a blaze of autumn through the trees.
from Fifth Canto,
Contemplating Death (La morte meditata)

Oh heavenly beauty, in words and image...
ReplyDeleteYour incredible image here immediately reminded me of the cover art on one of Pink Floyd's earlier albums... Meddle, of which one entire side of the vinyl disk was a piece called "Echoes", which is perfect music to listen to while basking in the warm glow of the vibrant light shining out from the Floating Bridge...
Now, the real question is, what on earth are you doing up so late ??? Or so early ? Google says this was posted two hours ago which would put it at between 02h00 and 02h30 Paris time, not sure if Romania is an hour ahead of Paris or not, but either way, that means someone is burning the midnight oil... unless of course the time set to post was not the time it was composed and "published"... but all that is of no matter really, irrelevant to the matter at hand, which is really simply a question of clearing the mind, and gazing at those green leaves...
Happy holidays Roxana !
Makes me warm.
ReplyDelete!!!
ReplyDeleteAh... this is for the lovely Gentle, yes? whose delicate picture by you I found so agreeable?
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely imagery... comparing the woman to a leaf drifting by, riding on the autumn breeze.

ReplyDeletewhere have you disappeared? why have you stopped posting?
thank you for coming here again, it's really a joy to hear from you...
James!
ReplyDeletesuch a surprise!!! i have read your poem many times but still can't believe you actually managed to write in Romanian
:-)))
and it's so good! only a little remark, "creanga neagră", it should be feminine.
i am overwhelmed - and such a sweet gesture, to dedicate it to Gentle... how could i thank you...
