undoing

an arm reaches out
a curtain is pulled
a window is opened
the light is let in
yet behind each one
of these gestures
there is another gesture
undoing what is being done.

i seek the silence
undoing me.

In the sound of heartbreak there is no form or shadow;
Painting is made without sound and is also heartbreaking.

overfull

I love him whose soul is deep even in the wounding, and may succumb through a small matter: thus goeth he willingly over the bridge.

I love him whose soul is so overfull that he forgetteth himself, and all things are in him: thus all things become his down-going.

Fr. Nietzsche, Also sprach Zarathustra

(tr. Thomas Common)
