of windows and curtains

my new windows-blog

  1. since starting this blog towards a future tome with Michael Tweed, about windows and curtains in arts, literature, etc. i have come to realize that windows are one of the most common themes one could find - they really seem to touch upon an archetypal meaning we seem to keep coming back to.

i have decided to keep a diary of the windows in my life, just for me - i wanted to let you know, in case someone is interested in following. i won't show the posts on the Bridge, so if you want to look, you have to bookmark it - or you can find the link on the sidebar of the Bridge, under my profile :-)

  3. oh! m-a ametit,si tu stii asta:) cu degetele ei de purpura, acolo, singura,in unduirile de nisip, asteapta ceva ,infloreste tot mai mult?...am impresia ca niciodata nu o voi descoperi in intregime; am impresia ca in solul ei semintele se disipa si inmiesc in fiecare clipa; am impresia ca timpul este impartit in petale,si simt nevoia sa ating o fereastra,oricare...

  4. this is what happens for me immediately upon seeing this photograph: i stop and look around at the very physical and real inarguable things that comprise my environment. i consider for a moment even the atoms that comprise these things. and i know (KNOW) that even if i had these curtains and even if i had this flower, i could not take this photograph. and so you show to us an archetype or metaphor which speaks through all our mouths, but you show to us your particular variety of archetype which is like an orchid itself, as sensual, as transient, as endearing, undeniably you.

i wonder if this is what you look like without skin, not just this one image but each of your images.

    1. oh erin, but i don't think so, i think you could take this photo, in so many of your images i recognize myself, a certain way to look at the world, to feel it (and with your poems it is different, i think, there i am startled into something new, overwhelming - though not alien, not at all, but with your words i feel i couldn't express them as you do - funny, isn't it? why i have this different perceptions of your images and poems, related to my own styles).

  5. Of course i read 'windows blog' as windows the operating system (you see, it must be archetypal-couldn't they have named it 'screens' or 'boxes'? Yes, Boxes 8, it could have worked!)) But i digress...

Didn't they go through mirrors (a kind of window) in Time Bandits? i'll try to locate a tear in the fabric of the universe and this will allow me to find you (and some windows and curtains, i expect).

    1. haha, windows-OS-blog, only you could invent this :-) i am still laughing!!!
hmmm you are right, mirrors are a kind of windows, but if i include them too in my new blog, it will grow too widely, beyond any possibility of controlling its moods :-)

  6. Where I live, nobody has curtains, only blinds. The sun is so strong that curtains actually get holes burnt in them! Your images make me long for a certain feeling, or moment, of gauzy materials gently swaying to the rhythm of a cool breeze...

    1. oh! a place without curtains, can this be? i often wonder about this strange land you inhabit, grateful that i have you to show it to me, in a way nobody else has, until now.

  7. I really like this photo. i like that you play with fabrics to see the word differently and the color association is really nice
